Surge capacitors for generators
Protective capacitors reduce shock waves (overvoltages) and thus protect the insulation and windings of rotary machines (motors) and transformers from damage. In combination with the surge arresters, they reduce the shape and size of the shock wave.
Next variant is a capacitor with a non-inductive resistor connected in series, the so-called RC element.
